Cancun is located in the state of Quintana Roo, on the east coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. It is divided into two areas: Hotel Zone, between the lagoon and the sea, and downtown Cancun.
Modern Mexican cuisine is the result of the fusion of two cultures: Pre-Hispanic and Spanish. The Xtabentun is the traditional drink served in Cancun and is a liqueur made in Yucatan, from rum, aniseed and honey produced by bees from the nectar of Xtabentun flowers. You can take the regular bus to move around the Hotel Zone and downtown any time of the day. It is safe and inexpensive and the bus drivers will help find your way.

Things to do:

  • A 10-minute taxi ride down the coast from the resort is Luxury Avenue, a high-end mall with world class designer brands. In the same area you can explore La Isla Shopping Village, a complex with restaurants, bars and movie theaters, plus an interactive aquarium that provides a wonderful opportunity to swim with dolphins.
  • For a truly unforgettable experience, you can end the afternoon with a helicopter ride that lets you view our resort and the exquisite colors of the sea from above.
  • After a revitalizing start with fresh fruit at our breakfast buffet, you can ease into the day under a palm-thatched palapa on the beach. Having soaked up the sun with a cool drink, water sports await in the turquoise Caribbean Sea or calm Nichupte Lagoon.
  • For golf lovers, Puerto Cancun Golf Course offers a picturesque setting for your game. A massage or beauty treatment at our Ikal Spa will help you to look and feel radiant before heading out for the afternoon.
  • Cancun is renowned for its nightlife, and there is plenty of it to discover within walking distance of the resort. Our European Plan allows you to eat outside the hotel at an amazing range of international dining destinations, without the restraints of an all-inclusive set up. After dinner, you can find the heart of Cancun entertainment at the iconic Coco Bongos, where incredible shows, flying acrobats and dancing until very late make for an unforgettable nocturnal experience.

Helpful Hints:

Clothing and accessories

We recommend you wear insect repellent if you take a tour to any of the eco-theme parks, archaeological sites and caverns. You should use biodegradable sunscreen at the eco-theme parks. Be aware of the rainy season from June to November and that Cancun has a very warm and humid climate. Make sure to bring light clothing to wear during day time as well as formal clothing for the evening as it might be requested at some restaurants or discos.

Cellular Phone Charger

If you are planning to bring your cellular phone, do not forget your charger. Mexico has 110 watts in electricity.
